A complete series of lessons based on the Crime au Chateau offered by Expo 3 Rouge Module 4. I have tweaked a couple of activities to make them fit better with my classes. They really enjoyed this type of Whodunnit type of activity.

A lesson to introduce literature early in year 7 French (or in primary school if you are adventurous). It is based on formal announcements (faire-part). Most activities are differentiated. The lesson plan is very explicit but there is room for changes if you want to adapt some of the activities or change them. This is a great way to introduce literature progressively early in KS3 based on the new National Curriculum recommendations. This will also allow an easier transition when literature becomes compulsory at KS4 in MFL in the new specifications. This is a lesson to introduce students to Translation from French into English. This is based on the current (not yet Ofqual approved) 2016 Edexcel GCSE French, Including a Full lesson plan. A Smartboard presentation on what students would have in their survival kits. This includes new vocabulary (not just pencil case items) along with an introduction to 'avoir' in the present tense. This is ideal for 2 lessons. This can be used with Studio 1 or as a standalone resource. All the listening are home-made embedded videos (using Xtranormal). All the reading materials are included as Powerpoint presentations.

A lesson based on preferences when it comes to eatiung at the canteen. It also includes a series of activities on that topic (amended version).

A GCSE Lesson on new technologies (notebook and PPT) based on the iPhone 6 and 6Plus and authentic Apple adverts in French. It focuses on understanding authentic materials. Starter: match verbs with objects, Main: Listening (put the activities in order), adjectives match up and gap fill, Plenary: GCSE reading paper on Apple Watch. Links to the videos from the French Apple website are provided.

A Unit of Work on the topic of media and the news. There are four lessons worth of activities (understanding the news, interviews, weather forecast and reporting in the imperfect tense). Students can work through the supporting booklet. The final activity gets the students into groups where they have to create their own TV show to include an opening, the weather forecast, breaking news and an interview.

A complete lesson introducing 'qu'est-ce que tu as regardé a la télé'. It includes a listening activity (based on the video) and a reading activity (the PPT presentation). The plenary is a challenging, yet fun pass the parcel.

Two handouts on justifying why you like/dislike a certain type of music or artist. It could lead to the writing of an account of a concert.

Based on the extension of Expo 3 Module , the lesson is focused on the reality-TV show 'les colocataies' and includes various activities.

Infinitives in French are used as cues. Students have to put the verbs in their past participle forms in the crossword.

A presentation of the main events in Europe and Russia leading to WW2.

An introduction to the futur simple including some irregular ones. It is mostly focused on the first person singular but it can be easily adapted. It also includes a reading comprehension activity.

A challenging lesson focussed on a song that is currently number 1 in the French charts.\n \nStarter:\n- Match the endings to the right pronoun\n \nMain:\n- Conjugate the infinitives in (taken from the lyrics)\n- Listen to the song and fill in the gap (using the verbs just seen) – don’t show the video as it is the lyrics video (it will show the answer)\n- Unjumble the key words (they can be found in the lyrics).\n \nPlenary:\n- Group discussion: what is the main theme of the song (answer: b. racism – although the other answers are also acceptable)

A presentation for describing yourself and other people. It might not be ease to use (flash embedded content) but all you have to do is press the play button until the animation stops and press play again and so. I am working on a solution so that it can play more easily...
